LCNN partner summer meetings outside and in-person - join us in August on the water

Since our mission is to get more people outside, we wanted to offer that same opportunity for our LCNN partner meetings, for the summer at least. We figured we needed a break from Zoom screens and conference room meetings.

In June we met outside at the Water Resources Education Center. Jane Kleiner caught the group up on the latest LCNN business and we brainstormed in small groups what would be helpful on our Members section of the LCNN website.

After the meeting, Ashley Conley led the group on a nature walk on the trail from the Water Center to the Columbia River. We got the expert tour and learned as we walked. We closed our eyes and listened for how many distinct bird species we could detect, learned about the critters invading leaves, took in the crisp air and swatted a few mosquitos too!

Our August meeting will be at Felida Park August 17th with an optional paddle exploring Lake River and Vancouver Lake aboard the Estuary Partnership’s Big Canoes!

You must REGISTER to attend the paddle, as spaces are limited and we need to determine how many canoes to take. As noted in the Eventbrite, this is not open to the public, but is a networking gathering for our LCNN partners. If you are planning to attend JUST the meeting, but not attend the paddle, there is no need to register.
