WNPS Plant Hike in the Gorge

  • Wind River Arboretum (map)

Join Steve Clark with the Washington Native Plant Society to look for rare native plants of Washington!

The walk is a gentle uphill of about 1.5 miles one way.  An added bonus is a Fremont's silktassel bush (Garrya fremontii).  Not on the Rare Care list but it is a pretty rare Washington plant.  I've only seen it twice and this bush is huge.

Meet at the Wind River Arboretum at 11 AM.  This is about 14 miles north of Carson, WA; an hour from Camas (see map here).  We will hike a couple hours, have lunch at a nearby creek and head home.  Let Ron Klump know at klumpron@gmail.com if you're interested.
