Winter Solstice Sunset Walk

Winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere marks the shortest day of the year. Each day after the solstice will bring more light until we reach the apex of light during the year at the June summer solstice. Take an afternoon walk along the banks of the Columbia River, and celebrate the winter solstice as it ushers in the return of the light and longer days.

Advances registration required. The walk is suitable for ages 6 and older. Space is limited. Sign up today.

Plan to walk 1.5 miles on uneven terrain, sandy beaches and paved pathways. Leave pets at home, please. All youth should be accompanied by an adult. This free program will occur, rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, registered participant will be notified as soon as possible.
