Our Spring School Garden Tour continues Wednesday, May 3rd at Illahee Elementary School. The tour at Illahee Elementary will take place from 4-6pm, with a presentation from educator Lori Boehi at 4:45pm. Illahee Elementary is located at 19401 SE 1st St in Vancouver, WA.

 

Illahee's school garden and outdoor learning spaces have been ever evolving over the years and boast many amazing features:

  • Newly installed outdoor classroom

  • Clark Green Schools' Green Team of the Year winning Green Team

  • Over 20 new trees planted in collaboration with Vancouver Urban Forestry

  • Backyard Habitat Certification for school garden and native plant demonstration garden. 

  • Weekly Volunteer-led Recess in the Garden Program

  • Native plant demonstration garden

  • Decomposition station

  • Garden includes both raised beds for edible plants as well as a pollinator garden, container pond that hosts breeding tree frogs, cutting garden, nature play area, sensory garden, and seating area
