PEI: Introduction to FieldSTEM for Nonformal Educators (Bilingual Spanish) Online - 3 STEM clock hours

Sat. Feb. 10th from 9am – 12pm (Zoom - Registration link)

Join PEI for a virtual three-hour workshop aimed for nonformal educators, including para educators, after-school educators, summer school programs’ educators, family liaisons, and other informal/nonformal educators.

The objective of this workshop is to have informal/nonformal educators learn about our fieldSTEM model and experience integrated outdoor learning activities from PEI’s fieldSTEM resources in order to implement with the learners in their care, as well as with families and the community in general.

During the workshop, we will explain our fieldSTEM model and the connections with formal education, provide resources in Spanish for different grade levels, support educators that need resources for the special needs on their own programs and provide planning time. Participants will hear about the importance of community partner relationships and consider ways to create sustained, meaningful relationships as well as exemplify fieldSTEM careers.

In addition to exploring PEI’s K-12 resources in Spanish, participants will work together to explore lessons that include outdoor educational resources using our Fostering Outdoor Observation Skills guide and learn of other free Spanish resources.
