Learning Outside: Fostering Environmental Awareness and Increasing Engagement through Outdoor Education

REGISTER

In this workshop, hosted collaboratively by Pacific Education Institute (PEI) and ESD 112, we will explore a practical approach to engaging students in meaningful outdoor learning. Teachers will be immersed in various activities and lessons that allow for connection with the natural environment while integrating content across academic disciplines (STEM, ELA, etc.). Teachers will be given opportunities to connect and collaborate to adapt resources and ideas to their own classrooms. PEI & ESD 112 curricular resources (open access lesson plans, units, etc.) will be shared with teachers to support their implementation of outdoor education. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to build a vision for how outdoor learning can support the holistic well-being of the students they serve.

Please dress in comfortable clothing and shoes so you feel comfortable as we go outdoors.

*We will be paying for sub-coverage so you can attend**
