Hike and Learn at Hamilton Island

Join Jessica Becker, author of the “Little feet hiking” book series, for a family experiential learning hike on the Hamilton Island trails. On this hike, we will learn about the formation of the Gorge, the Bonneville Dam, animal tracking, and whatever else we find interesting. We will spend time down by the river and hiking through meadows.

This 3-mile hike is geared towards kids ages 5+ and their caregivers who are able to walk up and down a few hills, as well as follow safety precautions when we are near the Columbia River. There is no shade on this hike, so we recommend bringing lunch, snacks and water, sun protection (there isn’t much cover), and your curiosity. Coordinates are 45.627888, -121.978305.

If you have a nature journal and pencils, bring them along. We’ll have extra on hand though too! We also recommend something to sit on (garbage bags are one option).

This is not a drop-off event and registration is required. Please sign up one person per family and indicate how many will be participating in the notes.
