Overview
Come help one of the trails in our "Lost Trails" Campaign. It was so overgrown you could hardly find it. A lot of WTA work over the years has reclaimed the trail, but now it needs to be maintained. Join one day or both to give this trail some love.
About the Area
Off the beaten path, this understated trail has a lot to offer besides solitude. It traverses multiple habitat zones, from alder forest to young Douglas-fir stand, them finally a more alpine setting with a great view of Mt. Hood. If you like a little challenge the two unbridged creek crossings (MP 0.9 and 1.5 from the western trailhead) can be fun or frightening depending on the season.
What to Expect
We'll have fun, work hard and make a difference!
Project Description
Expect a combination of tasks: brushing to make sure that people can actually find and follow this trail, drainage clearing, sprucing up the tread, and clearing the trail of any winter debris.
Hiking Information
We'll be hiking about 3.0 miles round trip on mostly flat terrain with a couple short hills. There are two small creeks to ford and the main stem of the East Fork Lewis River - we'll be watching the rain forecast to ensure the water is low enough to safely cross.
Schedule
8:30 AM: Be ready to answer health screening questions. Please make sure your electronic waiver has already been signed before the work party!

Morning: Work at your own pace, and take breaks throughout the day
12:00 PM: Lunch on the trail
Afternoon: Consider trying a new task before wrapping up the day's work
