It's that time of year again - chum salmon have started returning to our local streams! Did you know that the Columbia Springs Vancouver Trout Hatchery raises and releases around 400,000 individuals each year as part of a statewide recovery program? This December, the Columbia River group is scheduled to make their appearance at their natal spawning grounds near our site. Join us in early December (date TBD) for a virtual Chum Salmon Festival courtesy of Columbia Springs and the Wood Family, which will feature up close footage of the returning salmon and interviews from local groups explaining the importance of these creatures.
