Open School Garden Tour: Ogden Elementary, May 24 & new school garden coordinator

School gardens are a buzz with spring planting, learning and growing. Come see the new garden space at Ogden Elementary May 24th! See all the details below.

One other exciting step forward for school gardens in Clark County is the addition of a school garden coordinator, through the WSU Clark County Master Gardener program and funded by the Master Gardener Foundation of Clark County. Bekah Marten has been working to help on site school garden coordinators in Vancouver Public Schools. The focus of the schools she is assisting are schools who are lower income and students of color. Our hope is that other funding can be found for garden coordinators to be added in other districts.

Come tour the Ogden Elementary School Garden on May 24th! We’ll have a plant and seed swap so if you have extras of something to share, bring them! We’re getting some donations from some local school plant sales so there should be something for everyone. Bekah, the new school garden coordinator will be there so you can say hello!
